Cooritalia started with a free hand design

These are then formalized into shop drawings which are submitted for approval

Blocks are selected for color matching over such a large job

After the blocks are selected the manufacturing begins

The project has a variety of different elements, floor tiles, column bases, wall caps. Some of the more complicated pieces are curved elements that are curved in two directions

Another complicated aspect are the two curved staircases with the accompanying balustrades and hand rail. These are "mocked-up" on the laboratory floor

The mock up ensures that pieces fit perfectly before they are numbered

crated and shipped to the job site

At the job site they are unpacked and lined up for installation

All shipments come with installation notes

The final result is spectacular

Each balustrade is individually carved by hand

Six Column bases were made. They are solid block, not laminated.

The stone used throughout is Nuvolato Dark travertine, honed

A DREAM POOL

CASE STUDY

The owners always knew the vision they had in mind for their spectacular pool. Drawn in classic style CoorItalia's job was to take the free form designs, and work with designers, artisans, installers and owners to refine the design, optimizing solutions, warning of potential installation problems, producing full shop drawings, ensuring the installation team had notes taken from complete mock-ups at the laboratory in Italy where each piece, after being manufactured, was assembled, dis-assembled, numbered and crated. In the end it took 5 containers to bring all the pieces to California for final assembly.
