WOODSIDE WALL SURROUND

CASE STUDY

In one of CoorItalia's largest projects that we have also highlighted in this case study page (see A Whole House in Woodside) here we concentrate on the production process of the window surround. Whereas other windows are areas of the house are an artful mix of stone and brick, the areas surrounding the Great Room windows were to be solely in travertine.

The exterior of the Great Room was designed by the architect as a continuous stone wall with arches wrapping around the windows and open corners. The intent was to have solid dimensional cut travertine pieces without any glued corner.

The shop drawings helped our artisan in Tuscany to select the appropriate blocks, cut the various pieces making sure that the individual elements would align perfectly.

These images show the entire process during the production, our inspection on the clients’ behalf, the final result.
